wHAT DESIGNING MEANS TO ME

Breathing & filling my lungs to capacity with fresh clean air and slowing releasing it is my visual of designing!  While relaxing in my studio my imagination enters into the highest realm of creativity, with endless designs in mind.  It touches to the core of who I am!! 

The design comes alive! I feel it, then display it on the mannequin, gaze at it repeatedly and the finale, imagining who will get the opportunity to display this master piece. 

My sewing & designing career began at early age of 9 years old.  My Sweet Mom taught me and my sister the art of sewing by providing us with scrapes of her designs.  Sewing Barbie Doll clothes and teaching us the fundamental “How To’s of sewing.  We learned the valuable & rewarding tool of sewing.

Watching a garment develop out of yards of fabric was intriguing and quickly became a passion at a very young age for me and my sister. As I grew older my skills developed and I became extremely passionate about the image and style I wanted to portray.  Quickly I knew how important it was to have my unique style and not look like everyone else.  So I started designing my very own look.

By the time I was in high school, I was making most of my own clothes and all I needed was the right shoes for each outfit. 

Designing a garment starts with an assessment, ensuring the garment is customized to deliver the highest level of excellence.  Who will wear this design, what is their flare and the occasion.  Wow, the joy that I have during this planning process from beginning to end is unbelievable.

My desire is to please every customer and will reach to exceed their expectation each and every time.  Will make sure that every angle has been touched to ensure their happiness.  My mom says. “You have to look just as good going as you do coming and the inside of your garment needs to look just as good on the inside as it does on the outside.” I live by those rules and try to make each garment with love and care.

Made To Order Designs was birthed from my desire to make sure each garment fits like your skin. A perfect Fit defines the garment and is essential  to me.  When selecting Made To Order Design your garment will fit you like a glove.  When your clothes fit correctly you feel like a million bucks.

one of a kind

As a self-taught designer, I get the opportunity to do what I love and love what I do.  Serving is an honor, I absolutely love to help others look and feel beautiful.  When designing pieces specifically for the customer, they will get to wear a one-of-a-kind piece designed especially for them.  Many of the customers know what they want and I am happy to deliver.   Those that aren’t really sure, what a great time I have designing.  

My mom told me, “You have to look just as good going as you do coming”, so  it’s important to do something special in the back of your garment.  Those who love the bling glamour, I am your designer, you bet there will always be a little display of bling!

 It could be as small as a button, a zipper or just all over bling.  Just know there will be a shiny object on your garment.  

I give thanks to God for the best husband that a woman could ask for!!  He supports my dreams and is my biggest supporter.  So blessed to have so many supporters in various ways.  My wonderful family and lots of  friends.  I give thanks from the bottom of my heart to the each of you.  The love and support they all give in their own special way.
